Winter 2006
Spring may be the season for green leaves to sprout, but this winter a “green” community design is physically growing into reality, as Olmsted Green lays the foundations on its first buildings.

Energy-efficient and environmentally friendly when finished, these townhomes and condominiums are now being constructed with a focus on low environmental impact, such as the preservation of the grounds’ towering second-growth trees. Fueled by concrete floor plans and vigorous progress, sales interest in these homes is heating up, particularly among professionals who work in the nearby medical and scientific communities.

In other news:
The Olmsted Green team was delighted to see that the December issue of The Atlantic Monthlylisted its namesake and inspiration, landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, at number 49 among the 100 Most Influential Americans of All Time. The magazine praised him as “the genius behind New York’s Central Park, [who] inspired the greening of America’s cities.”
